There are a few hair straightening techniques you can use to get that silky straight sedu celebrity hair style but the one below is the least expensive and the most effective.   No matter what texture your hair is from frizzy, kinky ethnic hair to thin, stringy wavy hair the following hair straightening technique will work and will straighten your hair... if done properly and if the right tools are used.  Be patient, take your time and soon you will master the art of straightening your hair.

BLOW 'N SHINE HAIR STRAIGHTENING TECHNIQUE

This method of straightening your hair is the least expensive and takes the shortest amount of  time.  With some practice you can have this technique down to a 10 minutes process and, by bonding in a few Eternal Hair extension pieces you'll have the hair of your dreams.

Recommended Supplies:
Hair dryer (Fig. A).  Preferably a high wattage blow dryer of at least 1800 watts and one that is ionized.  This type dryer will make straightening your hair faster but you can use any hair dryer.
A large paddle brush (Fig. B) for smoothing the hair.
A large round brush (Fig. C) that is of a size that will wrap around the length of your hair.
Metal Core Brush (Fig. F) (optional) for adding volume to your hair
Duck Bill clips (Fig. D).  These are the type hair salons use to clip aside the hair you aren’t working on.
Mousse Styling Spray/Gel (Fig. E) to protect your hair from harmful heat appliances & UV sunrays as well as helping to hold the style.
*Hair Gloss or Serum (Fig. G) to give your hair a smooth silky texture and help remove.
Plastic double layer wide tooth comb (Fig.H)
* If you are planning on applying hair extensions it is not recommended to apply gloss or a shine serum until after they are applied.
Any brand mousse, gel, gloss or serum is fine.  Don’t waste your money on the pricey products…the result is the same with them all.
Step 1: Clean Hair
Shampoo and condition your hair using your favorite shampoo and conditioner.  For extra straightening aide try using a volumizing shamnpoo and conditioner.

Step 2: Remove Tangles
Comb your hair using a wide-toothed comb  (Fig. H) to remove any tangles then partially blow-dry your hair to get rid of excess water.

S
tep 3: Apply Mousse
Rub in a handful of mousse throughout your hair giving emphasis to the ends.  Don’t over-do it or your hair will be stiff.

Step 4: Blow-dry
Section your hair by first gathering the upper top of your hair from side to side and pin out of the way (Fig.1).  Holding the hair dryer in one hand and your round brush in the other hand begin brushing the loose (lower) hair starting at the root and pulling it outward  while the air flow from the dryer follows the movement of the brush (Fig 2) .
*Be sure to apply tension on the hair as you move the brush from root to end.  This is what straightens your hair.

Step 5: Finish Blow-Drying
Repeat step 4 until both top and bottom areas are ¾ dry (it is okay if your hair is completely dry because when the hair is at this stage it is very flexible and will respond to styling hair which is dry).

Step 6 (optional): Styling For Volume
This step is used if your hair is thin and you want more volume.  If you will be applying hair extensions I recommend you skip this step.  Begin blow-drying throughout your hair using a large, round metal core brush.  Wind hair completely up the brush, focusing on creating a lift at the roots.  Hold the brush with the rolled hair on it as close to the roots as possible and gently blast the hair dryer on the underside of the brush holding the roller hair.  Hold for a few seconds then gently unroll the hair from the brush while at the same time slightly curl the ends under.  Continue as desired throughout hair.

Step 7: Finishing by Glossing
Finish with the hair gloss-serum by placing a small dime-sized amount onto the palm of your hand.   Rub your hands together then run your fingers throughout your hair distributing the gloss/gel over your hair as evenly as possible. Taking your paddle brush (Fig. B) gently brush your hair with repeated strokes until it is shiny and soft to your liking.

That's all there is to it!  If you find your hair is still not as straight as you want it to be then try using this Step:

Step 8 (optional) Flat Iron
Ironing your hair with a flat iron (Fig J) can be tricky but with practice you'll be able to do this within minutes.  It is essential that your iron is a high wattage iron in order to truly straighten your hair.  Also, use a 1" size as these are easier to maneuver.    After completing Steps 1-7 above section your hair into at least four sections (Fig. 3): On each section pull your hair up and out then place the iron as close to your scalp as possible and slide it down to the ends.  Repeat as many times as necessary to achieve the look you want.
