HOW DO YOU GET GLUED STRIPS OF HAIR EXTENSIONS OUT?

I don't have them but I want to, is it true you can put conditioner on them and they come out with out ripping your hair out?

ANSWER
There are several hair bond removers on the market but be careful...some of them contain acid-like ingredients and can make your hair brittle (if used a lot).

I've worn every type of hair extension application method on the market.   I can't afford the professional extensions ("strands" such as Great Lengths) anymore so I now wear the bonded extensions (Eternal Hair is the best) and have been wearing then for almost 10 years, 24/7 and I love them!  They stay on through about 3-4 shampoos (you don't have to shampoo as often as you usually do because the extensions soak up the oils your hair produces) and then you reapply them in less than 15 minutes. I don't even use the remover because by the 4th shampoo, in the shower, I just gently tug on them and they slip right off without pulling out my own hair. If you are planning on wearing them temporarily however (like for a day or two) then you have to use the remover.  Eternal Hair has a great bond remover sold separately or is included with all of the kits.

HOW CAN I TRUST MY HAIR DRESSER?

I want to get hair extensions will my hair dresser be able to help or will they rip me off? Also my hair is a very unusual color will a hair dresser be able to dye my hair and the extensions so they look the same. And how long do they last? Where's a good place to get them? Thanks X

ANSWER:

Professional hair extensions are the way to go if you want long hair. Rip you off? Probably! A full head costs around $1000.00 minimum! But, if you can afford it they're worth it. The color can easily be matched so that's not an issue. Most professionally applied extensions will last 3-4 months and then must be reset which costs another $ 300-400. I've worn them all and loved them but my budget didn't.

Check out our hair extensions...Eternal Hair.  They are a do it yourself hair extension system that give you very similar results as the pricy ones. Though they don't last as long as the strands and rows...they are semi-permanent meaning they can be worn up to a week then reapplied within 10 minutes. The hair is premium quality and will last a very long time.

Another idea is to talk to a beautician and get their recommendation.  If you have the bucks...go for it! They're really cool.

Eternal Hair offers a free sample and a free consultation online which is neat because you can describe your current "hair situation" and they give you their professional recommendation.
CAN FAKE HAIR EXTENSIONS BE CURLED WITH NON-HOT ROLLERS?

I want hair extensions but cannot afford real hair. I'm thinking about buying the Jessica Simpson hair. I will wear it straight most of the time, but if I want some curl or waves can I use non-heated rollers?

ANSWER:

You cannot use hot appliances on synthetic hair. No matter what they tell you you can't! It will fry them!

Hey, you can get a complete set of quality human hair extensions for $ 69.50 by clicking here.  Quality human hair, such as Eternal Hair, allows you to bleach, curl, hot iron and literally do anything you do with your own hair.  A word of caution...do not apply cheap hair!  It can (and will) damage your hair and looks great at first but after the first shampoo you'll hate it!
HOW DO I GROW OUT MY HAIR FROM A
                                                         "REGRETED HAIRCUT"?

Noooooooo!!! Need Hair Help Plz!!?

I've been growing my hair for almost about 3 years now and it felt like it's been forever. I normally blow it out or use a straight iron to...straighten it. The thing is though my friend says I have split ends. Do I have to cut all of it or just trim it a little. Is there something that can repair it? I don't wanna cut it now!!!

ANSWER:

You didn't mention how long your hair is so I'll assume it's pretty long: You don't need to cut off "split ends" anymore now that we have the miracle products called "Flat Irons" or "straightening irons". The iron flatten your ends so that they are not noticeable. And it's a myth that "split ends keep your hair from growing". It just ain't true!

Some people, especially as we age, find that their hair reaches a certain length and won't grow longer. There's not much you can do about it and no matter how many years you "grow your hair" it never seems to grow enough! Our hair grows 1/2" per month..that's a fact and is the norm for most people...HOWEVER...if you bleach your hair or add other chemicals this causes breakage so lay off. Try wearing hair extensions instead. Hair extensions give you the body we all strive for as well as length. Check out Eternal Hair extensions. They are the best quality hair and are semi-permanent. You can buy a few pieces of hair for only $10.00 or get a complete set for only $69.50.   Or try the Custom Hair Extensions: choose from 8 textures and 40 colors to match your hair exactly.

I promise you'll love Eternal Hair and they can make the "growing out" stages easier.   Good luck and remember...our beauty is who we are not what we look like. The sexiest and most appealing beauty item you can wear is a smile.
WHERE DO YOU GET CHEAP HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Hey I'm looking for CHEAP hair extension in the GTA.  Like cheap as in its in a clip and you just clip it under your hair.     Do you know?

ANSWER:

Watch out for cheap extensions! You won't like them, trust me!

Here's some helpful info about hair extensions:

THE GOOD...THE BAD...AND THE DOWNRIGHT UGLY:

The human hair grows in layers. The outer layer is called the "cuticle" which consists of a group of spherical cells that lie on the surface of the hair. Cuticle hair, also referred to as "Remy" or "Remi" hair, is aligned in the same direction like the tiles on a roof with the free edges directed towards the ends. Because hair extensions do not have the protective follicle (the cavity which holds the hair root) attached to them cuticle hair is crucial for hair extensions to lock in essential moisture and protect it against outside elements. Cuticle hair is more than a protective layer of hair as the cuticle gives the shiny glossy appearance (also referred to as "Sedu" hair) most people strive for. Cuticle hair is soft, healthy and always shiny and won't frizz up on you after you first shampoo them.  Ready for this?...Non-cuticle hair is hair that is collected from loose hair strands taken from hair brushes and even from the floors of hair salons then are assembled and sewn together. Gross! The hair looks really great in the package and even the first time you wear it but after the first shampoo is gets very dull, tangles and mats easily and looks like straw. In the long run you are wasting your money even though it may not be much.

HOW DO I KEEP MY HAIR EXTENSIONS FROM DRYING OUT AND GETTING BRITTLE?

I got hair extensions four days ago, and the stylist didnt really explain how to take care of them. She hasnt called back yet and they are looking all dry and icky. I have only washed them once. I am caucasian, with fine textured (well they were) hair extensions. Are there any products I can use to protect them from the flat iron or blow dryer? How about keeping them shiny, and soft? I cant seem to find any at sally's

ANSWER:

Wrong about all of the above!  Here are the facts:

If you have quality hair (extensions) applied then none of the above answers apply. Cheap hair dries out easily and never looks good after the 1st or 2nd shampoo. Unfortunately there's no way to determine the quality of the hair before it's applied. Be sure to buy them from a reputable supplier.  Good, premium quality hair is treated as you treat your own hair. No special solutions or magic potions required. Also...BEWARE: there are people out in "Cyber-land" that are selling synthetic hair as human hair. Even the beauticians are unaware of this as the hair looks exactly (if not better) than human hair. But try a hot iron on synthetic hair and a shampoo and you have straw.

Here's my tip which will work if done properly:

•You must have a high quality, very very hot ceramic flat iron. I repeat: a must-have! Be sure to get the 1" size so you can easily maneuver the process of using it.
•After shampooing and using a rinse-out conditioner on your hair (and the extensions of course) apply a small amount of glossing serum (I like Citre Shine which can be purchased at Walmart and such places for $5.00) on towel dried hair.
•Let your hair air-dry for better moisture but in this busy world go ahead and blow dry it while gently brushing it smooth.
•Take your (very hot) flat iron and iron your hair from scalp to ends repeatedly and all over.

Results: slinky, shiny "sedu" celebrity hair! You'll love it!

Tips:
•Take your time
•Practice makes perfect so be patient..it'll work, even with cheap hair extensions.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF HAIR EXTENSIONS???

My friend just got some Great Lengths hair extensions but I can't afford them.  Could u please name some different types of hair extensions and the process?  thanks :)

ANSWER:

Great Lengths are just one of the many types or methods of application of hair extensions. Here's some basic, easy-to-understand info:

    BONDED HAIR EXTENSIONS

Usually self-applied using "hair glue to attach hair extension wefts (wefts are strips of hair that has been either machine or hand sewn together). There are many glues available on the market but beware: if a low quality hair glue is used it can damage your hair. Be sure to use only a glue supplied by a reputable source (www.EternalHair.com).

THE PROS OF BONDED HAIR EXTENSIONS:
•Low cost: a complete set of bonds with quality Remy human hair for volume only $ 70-100 and to lengthen your hair
                    $ 150-200.
                   •Very minimal maintenance
•Easy, and quick, on & off
•Won’t damage your hair if applied & removed correctly
•You do not need to have them professionally applied (though it is important that you use the proper tools, products
                     and instructions)
                   •Virtually undetectable
•Perfect for quick thickening of your hair
•Lasts for 6 mos-1 year (if quality hair is used)
•Semi-permanent and can be worn through up to 4-5 shampoos before re-application.

THE CONS OF BONDED HAIR EXTENSIONS:

•Can get glue build-up if cheap glue is used and if not properly maintained
                  •Short term wear before re-application

STRANDS (Great Lengths; Cinderella Hair, etc.):

Strands must be professionally applied because there is extensive training and know-how involved to become a skilled strand extension artist. If you can afford to wear strands they are, in my opinion, the best. A word of caution: strands must be maintained and reset every 4-6 weeks or matting will occur (it happened to me with my first set and it ruined my hair).

          THE PROS OF STRANDS:
                •Very natural looking
                •Great for lengthening short hair
                •Gives a uniform even look
•Great Lengths uses the best quality hair that retains it's shine and stamina.

          THE CONS OF STRANDS
•Expensive (GL are around $1200-$1800 and others are around $600-1100
•Must be re-set about every 6-8 weeks which can cost another $ 300-500.
•Takes up to 8 hours to apply them
•If not applied properly they will shed and soon you will HATE long hair cause it'll be everywhere!

                                                                      WEAVES AND FUSION HAIR EXTENSIONS:

Weaving is adding hair by "weaving"it or "fusing" it onto your own hair using different methods. The hair can be “sewn” using WEFTS or "fused" using micro-rings and a hot appliance. Less expensive than the strand-by-strand.

THE PROS OF WEAVING OR FUSION HAIR EXTENSIONS:
•Less expensive than strands with a very similar effect.
•Perfect for ethnic, coarse hair that is hard to tame.
               •Great for very short hair

THE CONS OF WEAVING AND FUSION HAIR EXTENSIONS:

•Can be expensive (from $ 500-1000) and must be re-set every 4-8 weeks.
•Can damage hair by pulling on hair follicles
              •Must be professionally applied

    CLIP ON HAIR EXTENSIONS:

Clip-on's are a quick, fun way to alter your hair temporarily. The cost is reasonable (a set of quality clip-on's run around $ 200-$400)

THE PROS OF CLIP-ON HAIR EXTENSIONS
                •Easy to apply and remove
                •Great for temporary "once-in-a-while" wear
•Won’t damage hair if worn for very short periods

THE CONS OF CLIP ON HAIR EXTENSIONS:
•Must be removed and re-applied every day
•They will come off when you don’t want them to (like when sleeping, swimming, in the wind, etc.)
•Are easily detected and can be felt to the touch
•Clips are bulky and often hair brushes and fingers get caught in them
•Can damage your hair if worn for prolonged periods as the clips tend to pull on your hair follicles.

Is it normal to have some of the hair from your hair extensions fall out every day?

Not my real hair that falls out but the extension hair. Like when I brush it sometimes like 5 pieces come out and sometimes less. It seems that Im losing a lot of hair...plus a few pieces fall out every day...
ANSWER:

You didn't mention what type of hair extensions you have (i.e. strands or fusion, wefts, etc.) but based on your problem I'm going to guess you are wearing strands:

I had a set of Cinderella Hair Extensions (strands)several years ago and the hair shed everywhere! I mean everywhere! In my toothbrush..between my toes..everywhere was hair! Had to have them removed after only 1 month (and they should have lasted 6 months!).

To answer your question: NO! It is NOT normal to have your hair extensions fall out!! If you had them professionally applied then you need to go to them and tell them you want them re-applied properly (at no charge) or you want your money back.  A beautician who applies hair extensions without training or experience most likely will not apply them correctly. And many are doing it which is a rip-off to the consumer.

If the hair is not properly bonded or cheap hair is used the strands will slip out of the bond (known as "shedding")and the lifespan will be half what it should be.

Unfortunately, there is no way to fix the problem other than having them removed and re-applied CORRECTLY!

Get your money back and then check out Eternal Hair extensions.  Eternal Hair is a self-applied (under 15 minutes) semi-permanent, high quality hair extension system and cost under $100! I've been wearing Eternal Hair extensions for 7 years, every day 24/7 and "won't leave home without them". My short, thin, fine never-seems-to-grow hair is long and thick and I haven't had a "bad hair day" since!
